Allison Johnson

Allison Johnson is a novelist, nonfiction author, short story writer, and essayist.

Her novel, The Way Home, (Five Star), set in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, is the story of a woman forced to confront her broken relationship with her aging father.

Johnson co-authored Your Self-Confident Baby (John Wiley & Sons) with Magda Gerber, founder of Resources for Infant Educarers. Your Self-Confident Baby has been translated into German, Spanish, and Czech, and was featured in O: The Oprah Magazine.

Johnson has published essays in The Los Angeles Times . "Beauty and My Beast" appeared in the Los Angeles Times Magazine . She has written for Orange Coast magazine and desertusa.com , and was a columnist for Orange County Woman. She is a contributor to the anthology Cup of Comfort for Cat Lovers and kidsLA.

A selection of Allison Johnson's short stories were performed at the New Short Fiction Series in Los Angeles. Her short story, "The Winter Season," placed her as a finalist for the Glimmer Train Very Short Fiction Award. Her poetry has appeared in ONTHEBUS and in Phantom Seed, a literary journal of the desert.

She is a member of the Authors Guild.
